It is possible to wake up any morning with any attitude at all. It could be down, depressed, worried, paranoid, or hopeful. These feelings can be connected to the things in your life going on around you, they can be connected to your body, to pain, or to discomfort somewhere inside.
Or they cannot.
After all, these things are a state of mind. They are not really connected to anything other than what is going on in your mind. And that is something that you create.
At the heart of this is what you want to think about adversity. Is it bad? Is there nothing to be gained? Is there no strength to be realized? Is suffering unjust?
Ask yourself, how do I want to feel about adversity. Because adversity doesn’t really care. It will be there regardless of what you want, think, or feel. It doesn’t care if it breaks you or builds you. It doesn’t care if you fall or you stand. And it doesn’t care if you turn back or you go forward.
But it doesn’t decide for you. That part is up to you.
The road will part and you can go either way. The choice is up to you.
